Though be warned, it may wear down M65 mouse faster. You can try it for yourself if you have the same problem with middle click not registering without having to press it harder. I was amazed how simple it can be to get them working without having to press harder. I was excited and thought I could do the same with my older M65, and I've done it and it now works like a charm too! While it's quite impossible to disassemble my M65 down to middle click's conductors, I rotated M65 RGB to right and mashed the middle button as fast as I can as if there is dirt beneath it and pretending I was trying to shake it out. The culprit is usually dust or other dirt between the button conductors and had to be wiped to make the button work like a charm. I can recall similar problem with other old technologies which the buttons require harder press to register, or sometime won't register at all. I was frustrated trying to think of a better and quicker solution. I was disappointed that I might have to RMA it. Then I was going to RMA it, but decided to have it on my secondary computer (HTPC) and buy M65 RGB for my main PC.Ī while later my M65 RGB has the exact same problem with middle click not registering. I've had to press it harder to actually register the middle click. Lesson learned: photograph everything being RMA’d before closing the box.Since when I bought the original M65, I've been using it for long time in my life and I liked it.īut the middle click began to become less responsive. In addition, the model numbers of a M65 RGB and a Harpoon RGB only differ by one digit so it seemed likely the model number was logged in incorrectly.ĭespite all this I was unable to get them to replace the Harpoon with a M65. I had a receipt for the original M65 they’d already replaced once. To do so, remove any pads covering your mouse screws so you can see them. The first step is to disassemble the mouse casing by unscrewing all the screws. I had pictures of a M65 RGB with a bad scroll wheel. Heres a step-by-step guide for how to stop your mouse scroll wheel from jumping up and down. I pointed out to them: the M65 I sent them came from an RMA of a different M65. When I asked Corsair support why they sent me the wrong mouse, they said I had sent them a Harpoon so I got one in return.ĭespite strong circumstantial evidence I had sent them a M65, they refused to admit they had made a mistake when receiving my returned mouse and instead implied I was trying to scam them. Sometime later I received a Harpoon RGB in the mail. You can also check generally functionality by setting up a key bind to any letter key to make function easier to assess. You can leave profile assigned actions alone. But then the replacement M65 RGB’s scroll shell also died so I RMA’d that one under warranty. Clear out anything you have in the Actions Library. Corsair replaced my first M65 with a M65 RGB under warranty because the scroll wheel stopped working. Need help with a submission? Have a press inquiry? Have a question about a post removal?
